In it's communication "THE EUROPEAN UNION AND THE ARCTIC REGION" the European commission states that the EU should contribute to support the establishment of the Sustained Arctic Observing Network.
The Eighth Conference of Parliamentarians of the Arctic Region encourage national governments, the Arctic Council and institutions of EU to implement the SAON recomendations. Read the full conference statement
